Reconciliation
‘There has to be awareness of the past, an acknowledgement of the harm that has been inflicted, atonement for the causes, and action to change behaviour.’– The Truth and Reconciliation Commission, 2015
What is Reconciliation?
Canada has a colonial history and a complex relationship with its Indigenous People.
Reconciliation is about understanding and acknowledging Canada’s legacy.
Reconciliation is a process of rebuilding and redefining relationships between Indigenous People and all Canadians based on mutual respect, and in support of strong and healthy Indigenous communities that advance self-determination and prosperity.
Reconciliation is a healing journey of daily actions aimed at increasing awareness and expanding the minds and hearts of others. It is about addressing past harms and transgressions committed against Indigenous People.
Pourquoi Pas Coaching International is committed to help educate, support, preserve, and promote First Nations, Métis, and Inuit histories, traditions and cultures through its work.
We work to help address the racism, discrimination, and marginalization that has been experienced by Indigenous communities in Canada.
